Julie Abrams and Associates - Occupational Therapy: Helping Children Grow and Develop

About Us
My name is Julie Abrams and I have been working as a pediatric occupational therapist since 2002.  I studied occupational therapy at Colorado State University, where I received my master's degree. One of my specialties is Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and I am SIPT (Sensory Integration and Praxis Testing) certified. I have over 20 years of experience working with children.  Before becoming an OT, I taught skiing in Steamboat, coached gymnastics, and was a camp counselor in the mountains of Colorado.  I feel very fortunate to be able to incorporate my passions of  running, swimming, biking, yoga, and cooking into my occupational therapy practice.  Being an advocate for children and their parents, as well as a resource for families, is an essential part of my philosophy of practice.
My name is Marnie Adamson and I have enjoyed working as a pediatric occupational therapist since 2003 when I received my master's degree from the University of Puget Sound. Prior to entering the field of OT I worked with children in a variety of capacities, including as a teacher. As an OT I have worked in school settings from preschool through high school, in private clinics and in home based therapy.  I particularly enjoy approaching OT from a holistic point of view, collaborating and problem solving with the family to support the child’s development.  I have obtained continuing education training in reflex integration, including Masgutova Neuromuscular Reflex Integration (MNRI) and Rhythmic Movement Training, the S.O.S. Approach to Feeding, Bal-A-Vis-X, Handwriting without Tears, the Wilbarger Protocol for Sensory Defensiveness, DIR/ Floortime, Child Space Infant Developmental Movement, as well as a variety of other sensory integration and regulation courses.

My name is Anna Borys and I am a recent graduate of Saint Louis University with an M.A. in Occupational Therapy. I am also a certified yoga teacher for adults and children with and without special needs. While at Saint Louis University, I pursued my interests of nature and yoga in conjunction with occupational therapy practice. I presented at the American Occupational Therapy Association conference in 2015 about the Need for Nature in occupational therapy practice, and in 2016 about my Master’s Research Project titled The Influence of Yoga on Self-Regulation for Inner-City Youth. My philosophy includes working closely with families for sustainable therapy results, as well as improving children’s self-awareness and self-regulation through functional therapy. In my free time, I enjoy hiking, rock climbing, snowboarding, and cooking.
