My name is Julie Abrams and I have been working as a pediatric occupational therapist since 2002. I studied occupational therapy at Colorado State University, where I received my master's degree. One of my specialties is Sensory Processing Disorder (SPD) and I am SIPT (Sensory Integration and Praxis Testing) certified. I have over 20 years of experience working with children. Before becoming an OT, I taught skiing in Steamboat, coached gymnastics, and was a camp counselor in the mountains of Colorado. I feel very fortunate to be able to incorporate my passions of running, swimming, biking, yoga, and cooking into my occupational therapy practice. Being an advocate for children and their parents, as well as a resource for families, is an essential part of my philosophy of practice.
My name is Amanda Betzen and I have enjoyed working as a pediatric occupational therapist since 2003 when I received my Master’s degree from Colorado State University. I have always loved working with children and prior to becoming an OT worked as a gymnastics instructor, camp counselor, and Special Olympics coach. Much of my work over the last 15 years as an OT has been within the school system and I have worked with students with a wide variety of strengths and needs ranging in age from preschool up to age 21. I grew up on a farm and I am excited to share my love for animals and being outside with children. My approach is holistic and strengths based, and I highly value the power of collaborating with parents and families. Another passion of mine is practicing and teaching mindfulness - both teaching children and adults. I am a facilitator of “SMART in Education” classes (teaching classroom teachers stress management and mindfulness techniques).
